Originally a lumberjack, Isaac and Marta García decided to pick up making mezcal in 1990 in order to sustain their new and growing family. Isaac famously mentions in his interview, “It doesn’t matter if I can read or write, governors and people with college degrees drink my mezcal.” One can visit Isaac and Marta simply by taking the old federal highway on the way out to Hierve El Agua.
